On November 5, 2024, H.E. Kojo Bonsu, Ambassador of Ghana to the People’s Republic of China, received a high-level delegation from Dalian, comprising representatives from the Dalian Education Bureau, Dalian Sanwan Group Co. LTD, and the Dalian Foreign Affairs Office.
The meeting provided a platform for both sides to exchange views on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring practical opportunities for cooperation in key areas, including, Education, Sports, Film production, industry and sister-city relations.

The Dalian Education Bureau offered scholarships to two (2) students from Ghana in any of four (4) universities of their choice. The programme available to students span over twenty (20) options.
The Embassy and the Dalian Municipal Authorities have, thus established durable working relations to explore and exploit opportunities such as exchange of students, sporting teams and business trips for individual firms, etc.
The Dalian authorities and Ghana will jointly produce a film documentary in the first quarter of the year 2026 to showcase the potentials that could best be placed at the disposal of the people of Dalian and Ghana for mutual benefits, to serve as a vehicle to promote people-to-people relations for a shared future.
Ambassador Bonsu promised to take early steps to promote a Sister-City relation between Tamale and Dalian at the earliest possibility, while taking advantage of the other offers made by Dalian City.
The discussions underscored the commitment of both sides to deepen ties and foster mutually beneficial partnerships.
